First time here for a holiday party with our book club. I am vegan and had reached out to restaurant via website a few times over the last few weeks to see if they could accommodate but never heard back.
Asked waitress if I could have some of the “sides” offered out on a pasta and to please make sure chef knew I was vegan.
Brian, the chef, came out to our table to speak with me and said he didn’t want me to piecemeal something together and asked me if he could “make something vegan for you” so I said yes and the meal was fantastic!!! So nice and we will definitely go again.
I haven't been here since it was Alton's which we loved. Still the same dark (dimly lit) upscale feel that it always had. Atmosphere is really nice, great for a date night or solo dining for someone wanting to treat themselves. Initially, I was a little perturbed because it took almost 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge me once I was seated. Afterwards my server (Julia ) was very attentive and pleasant. She definitely made up for my initial wait and gave great suggestions when asked. My drink of choice was the old fashion, they have a great bourbon selection and I enjoyed my drink. My appetizer was the layered crab cake, please be aware that it comes with a fried on on top, I got mine poached medium, it was really good and a change from the norm which I found refreshing . I got the fresh wild caught salmon along with the whipped potatoes. The salmon was perfectly seasoned, as well as perfectly cooked. I truly enjoy the salmon, probably top five ever. Potatoes were just a tad salty but I really enjoyed them too (blood pressure be damned). All-in-all I would recommend giving this established a try, I found it was worth the cost.
Top notch and will be back frequently. The happy hour food prices were soooo cheap. $2 jumbo shrimp and cheap but delicious oysters. Outstanding drinks as well.
A beautiful interior space!
The three of us could not have been mote pleased with our first visit to Peninsula Prime. Our server Angela was a welcoming start to the evening and provided us with insight to the menu options and recommendations when we asked. We each ordered a different glass of Chardonnay and all were to our liking.
My husband started with the very good (cold and crisp) Prime Wedge. Our three entrées were Prosciutto Wrapped Cod, Steak & Shrimp Au Poivre and Maple Brown Sugar Salmon. Portions were generous and everything was delicious.
For dessert, I ordered Salted Caramel Gelato - Yum! My husband and brother-in-law shared a large split portion of Carrot Cake.
We would love to return on our next visit to see family in North Carolina.
Excellent dining experience. Servers were very friendly, attentive, and helpful. The food was fantastic. The chef is brilliant and I will be dreaming about the creme brulee for years to come. The atmosphere was amazing and I absolutely plan to return.
Attended Peninsula Prime tonight for our 3 year anniversary. It was absolutely amazing. From the moment we were seated by our amazing host up to the end. Our host went out of her way to ensure our table was set up beautifully. Our menus designed especially for us with the word Happy Anniversary Cora’s on it. Our server Tim, also known as TJ, gave us outstanding service to say the least. He was friendly, respectful and very knowledgeable. Everyone there Acknowledged our anniversary. The dinning experience was nothing short of amazing . The food ……… to die for. I recommend the lobster. The drinks , let’s just say we will be back. Complimentary champagne for our anniversary. Icing on the cake. We have already made plans to go back. Tim we cannot thank you enough and we will see you in two weeks. You all truly made our special day memorable.
Food took a long time to come out. Was not as tasty for the price. I feel they could have done better. The chandeliers need a deep clean. They are just nasty. Waiter was nice but he could lay off the caffeine. Probably won’t come back. The chicken was the only tasty entree. We ordered the salmon and the steak as well as the chicken. We also ordered the shrimp appetizer. We were shocked to only have received 4 shrimp for $22😱.
